Throughout our 17 year history, we have supported and campaigned for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, helping to deliver transformative change in the UK and worldwide.

We’re on the lookout for talented freelance new reporters to join our rosta. We want to work with freelance reporters that are passionate and interested in PinkNews content.

Main Responsibilities

• Produce first class news content and respond quickly to the daily news cycle

• Work collaboratively with the wider PinkNews team to identify relevant stories for our platforms

• Good knowledge of media law, checking stories for accuracy and ensuring it is in line with the PinkNews values and tone of voice

• Work with editorial management to ensure news stories meet PinkNews style and tone of voice

• Use social media to search for stories and emerging trends in LGBTQ+ news

• Ensure all work is legally sound, sources and facts are checked

Key Skills and Experience

• NCTJ or relevant experience working in a fast-paced news room

• A keen interest and understanding of all things LGBTQ+ culture and celebrity news

• Ability to identify, pitch and write original and engaging stories

• An understanding of SEO and publishing to a social audience

• A proven track record of agenda-setting culture/entertainment reporting with a wide range of contacts

Day rate: £120
