Junior QA Engineer
PinkNews is the world’s largest and most influential LGBTQ+ media brand, reaching a global audience of more than 60 million unique users per month across our website, socials and app. Our mission is to inform, inspire change and empower people to be themselves. Throughout our 17 year history, we have supported and campaigned for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, helping to deliver transformative change in the UK and worldwide.
As we continue to grow our digital and tech offering we are looking for a Junior QA and Technical Support person to join our team. Your role will be to act as the gatekeeper to our website and apps to ensure that our products are working smoothly, that they meet our high expectations and ensure our customer brand experience is always on point.
We're a company with big ideas and as a team we have an all-hands-on-deck approach, so being able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise your workload is a must. You will report directly into the Head of Technology and you will also be expected to assist with any ad hoc tasks as and when required. Part of your role will be supporting the wider team and providing technical support when needed.
You will be incredibly meticulous, with eyes like a hawk and will be able to detect and report bugs in a swift and timely manner. As the only QA person on the team you will be a self-starter who is keen to learn and see everyday as a chance to expand and hone your skills.

Extensive testing of new features to ensure they launch smoothly and with minimal disruption to the customer experience

Be able to fix minor bugs that require minimal development
Monitoring the Tech Support channel on Slack and prioritising tasks appropriately
Supporting the wider tech team and taking on adhoc tech or admin tasks as and when required
When necessary work with the relevant tech person to help resolve bugs or challenges that might come up
